Public -funded projects are often more difficult to deliver because they focus on hard to reach groups and/or innovative actions. Standard rules and regulations mean that contracts for project delivery are very specific with fixed dates for completion of activities and budgets constrained by issues of eligibility. Contracts are more likely to be fulfilled and the risks associated with audit and repayment is reduced with good project management. This seminar shows that project management is not used to only be associated with the construction and IT sectors but its value for project delivery within the public sector is now fully recognized.
